Refund Policy

Refund & Cancellation Policy

At TripInitiator.co.uk, we aim to make your travel experience seamless and transparent. This Refund & Cancellation Policy outlines how cancellations, modifications, and refund requests are managed when you book flights, hotels, cruises, or holiday packages through our platform. All bookings are governed by the rules of the respective travel provider (airline, hotel, cruise line, tour operator, etc.).

1. Booking Changes and Modification Charges

When you make a reservation through TripInitiator.co.uk, any request to change or cancel your booking may be subject to penalties charged by the relevant travel provider. These charges depend on:

  • The provider’s policy
  • The type of fare or package booked
  • The time remaining before departure

Most airlines, hotels, and travel suppliers require modification requests at least 72 hours before departure, though some may have stricter or more flexible rules.

To avoid unexpected expenses, we strongly advise contacting our customer support team to review the specific terms associated with your booking before requesting any changes.

2. Ticket Refund Rules

Most tickets sold through TripInitiator.co.uk are non-refundable, as per provider fare rules. However, if the fare type allows cancellations:

  • You may receive a travel credit or voucher with the same provider.
  • Vouchers must normally be used by the same traveller name.
  • Expiry dates and usage conditions are determined solely by the provider.

All cancellations must be submitted before your scheduled departure.

Requests made after departure or “no-show” situations are generally not eligible for refunds or credits.

If you choose to use a credit to rebook, you will be responsible for any fare difference or additional provider charges. Our support team can assist in reviewing applicable fare rules and options.

3. Cancellation Penalties & Refund Eligibility

The table below provides a general guideline of typical provider-imposed cancellation penalties. Actual charges may vary by airline, hotel, cruise line, or package provider.

Days Before Departure Cancellation Fee Refund Eligibility
90+ days No penalty (Full refund) ✅ Full refund (minus non-refundable deposits)
89–75 days Deposit forfeited ❌ No refund of deposit
74–61 days 50% of the fare ❌ Partial refund
60–31 days 75% of the fare ❌ Small refund, if any
30–0 days 100% of the fare ❌ No refund (full penalty)

These timelines are general guidelines. Your actual refund eligibility depends strictly on the travel provider’s policy.

4. Refund Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for a refund:

  • Your ticket or package must include fare rules that permit cancellations.
  • You must submit a refund request through TripInitiator.co.uk before departure.
  • “No-show” bookings are typically non-refundable.

We may request waivers or exceptions from travel providers on your behalf, but approval is entirely at their discretion.

5. Refund Request Process

Once you submit a refund request:

  • You will receive an email acknowledgment with a tracking number.
  • This acknowledgment confirms receipt of your request but does not guarantee refund approval.

Refund Processing Time

If your refund is approved:

  • Refunds are processed according to provider policy.
  • It may take 60–90 days for the amount to reflect on your bank or card statement.
  • Provider-imposed penalties will be deducted from the refundable amount.

Non-Refundable Fees

  • TripInitiator service fees and booking fees are non-refundable.
  • In some cases, a per-passenger, per-ticket refund processing fee may apply.
  • If the provider declines your refund, any post-ticketing service fees charged by us will be returned within 21 business days.

6. Important Notes

  • All refunds, credits, and penalties are governed entirely by the travel provider’s rules, not TripInitiator.co.uk.
  • Prices, penalties, and refund conditions vary widely across airlines, hotels, and cruise lines.
  • TripInitiator.co.uk acts as a booking intermediary and does not control provider refund decisions.
